Color rules for target value

I'm trying to create a card that uses a bullet chart. If the category is less than target value, I want it to be red. If it meets the target value, I want it to be green. I can't use the out the box color rules because each category has a different target.

    So if you have the following columns of data:

    Categories

    Value

    Target

    You could accomplish your goal by splitting the Value field into two different BeastModes:

    'Below'

    CASE WHEN `Value` < `Target` THEN `Value` END

    'At or Above'

    CASE WHEN `Value` >= `Target` THEN `Value` END

    Now set the `Categories` field to your 'Names' section on the Bullet Chart, the `Below` beastmode to 'Actual Value' section, the `At or Above` beastmode to the 'Range1 Value' and `Target` to 'Target Value'.

    Now in your color rules set `Below` to always red, and `At or Above` to always green.

    That should be all you need. If not, just let me know.

  • Ok, so to do that you'll need to break your `value` column into two separate columns like below:

    Below Target BeastMode:

    CASE WHEN `value` < `target` THEN `value` END

    Above Target BeastMode:

    CASE WHEN `value` >= `target` THEN `value` END

    Now use one of those in your 'Actual Value' field and the other in your 'Range 1 Value' field. Color them using the rules accordingly so that below is always red and the above one is green.

    Let me know if you need additional detail in setting this up.

    Good luck,

  • Thanks,

    This worked for the most part. I've attached the image of the output. The only issue I am running into is putting the 'Below' in the ACTUAL VALUE field and the 'Above' in the RANGE1 VALUE field.

    Is there a work around for this where both are actuals?
