Workbench 4 Caused Spontaneous Reboot during Install on W12 R2 Server

While installing Workbench 4 on a Windows 2012 R2 Server, the installation appeared to take much longer than normal (to the point of hanging) and then the server rebooted.  After the reboot, Workbench was installed and is performing as expected.

In all other installations I have done, the installation was very quick and easy and did not cause the server to reboot.  Anybody have suggestions as to why that might have happened?

Thanks,

Jaro

    Jaro,

We are sorry for the trouble you encountered while installing WB4 on your server. After speaking with our Workbench experts there isn't a known cause to the issue you experienced. It was concluded that WB couldn't have contributed to the slow install and that another service on the server must have been running as well as a background process contributing to lower resources available. Windows updates perhaps?

We are glad to know that WB is working as intended.

    Thanks,

    Chad D.
