Share Datasets with User Groups

For pages and cards you can share access to a user group, but you can't on a dataset unless you create a card from the dataset and share that card with the user group. However, this work around isn't feasible because you'd have to make a card for every dataset. 

 

I'd basically like to have an "Analyst" user group that I can share just about every dataset with, without having to create a card for every dataset.

 

As you can see in the examples attached, if I go to a dataset that has no card and is shared with noone and try to add the Admin user group, then nothing is available to select. However, in the other screenshot you can see that that dataset is shared with user groups because the card made from it is shared with user groups.

So @Ashleigh pointed out that it allows you to share the dataset to user groups if you mass select them in the data center, but not if you are selected into a dataset and then click share.
